Delicious Chicken Curry Recipe In Kerala Style





Chicken Curry is most common recipe in Kerala. There are many different ways to prepare a chicken curry. But today we are going to make chicken curry recipe in Kerala style.

INGREDIENTS:


Chicken – 500g (cut into medium pieces)


Onion – 1 big


Green chili – 2


Tomato – 2 medium


Ginger garlic paste – 3 tsp


Cardamom pods – 2


Kashmiri chili powder – 3/4 – 1 tsp


Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp


Coriander powder – 2 tsp


Garam masala/ Chicken masala – 1 tsp


Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp


Coconut Milk – 3/4 cup


Curry leaves – few


Oil – 5 tbsp


Salt

TO MARINATE:


Kashmiri chili powder – 3/4 tsp


Coriander powder – 2 tsp


Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp


Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp


Salt

Marinate Chicken





To marinate chicken take a bowl and add 500 gram chicken and cut it in to medium size pieces. Now add 3/4 tsp Kashmiri chili powder, 2 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and mix everything.

Add Onions





Add to it sliced 1 big onion, 2 chopped green chili and few curry leaves and mix well. Cook it in a cooker and blow 1 whistle. Add slight amount of water.

Prepare Gravy





Heat oil in a pan add sliced tomato and sauté till it becomes soft and tender.

Add Spices





Add 3 tsp ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Add 2 crushed cardamom pods, all spice powders and sauté till oil starts appearing on the sides of the pan. Now add cooked chicken stock in the cooker and mix well.

Add Chicken Pieces





Add the chicken pieces and mix well so that gravy gets coated on the chicken pieces.

Add Coconut Milk





Add 3/4 cup coconut milk and mix well.

Serve It





Cook with the pan covered in medium flame for 6 – 8 mins till gravy becomes thick. Pout 1 Tbsp of oil on the top. Serve hot with Appam/ chappati or rice.
